Arbutus Fingering · Wind Over Water
The particular grey-green of sage at the water’s edge, when the light is soft and the tide is coming in. Not quite grey, not quite green. The colour of the air before rain on the Salish Sea.
Wind Over Water is that stillness.
On MCN Fingering, the neutral base delivers Wind Over Water as a clean, clear sage. The colour reads without interference, bright and true. The naturally bouncy merino gives the colour energy and presence.
MCN Fingering is a blend of 80% superwash merino, 10% extra soft cashmere, and 10% nylon, spun to a fingering weight. The extra soft cashmere lifts what might otherwise be a straightforward merino, adding a quiet, perceptible luxury to the hand. The nylon brings resilience and wearability. Together they make something that wears as well as it feels, at an accessible entry point into the range.

Frequently asked questions
Machine washable on a gentle wool cycle, or hand wash in cool water. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight.
Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches, so subtle variations in colour and saturation are part of the character of these yarns. For larger projects, we recommend purchasing skeins from the same dye lot where possible, noted on the label, or alternating between lots as you work for the most even result.
