Evening Heather holds both. Neither cool nor warm, it carries the blue of the sky and the red of the earth. Somewhere between treeline and tide.
On Opal Fingering, the warm camel base softens Evening Heather without diminishing it. The violet settles into something gentler – a warm mauve with a natural silk sheen that shifts as the skein moves. The camel brings its own quiet warmth to the colour, the two sitting together easily, neither asking anything of the other. Restraint, from two directions at once.
Opal Fingering is a blend of 50% mulberry silk and 50% baby camel, spun to a light fingering weight. Baby camel and silk together produce a softness that has no equivalent in the range, smooth rather than springy, with a natural warmth that merino cannot replicate. The silk contributes a sheen that catches light with every movement. At 100 grams and 533 metres this is a generous skein with extraordinary hand feel – the kind of yarn that changes what you thought you knew about fingering weight.
Dyed in small batches in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, using acid dyes on protein fibre. Each skein is individually hand-dyed. Tonal variation between skeins is natural and part of what makes each piece unique.

Hand wash in cool water with a gentle wool wash. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid wringing or twisting. Block gently to shape if needed.
