Opal Fingering · Wind Over Water
The particular grey-green of sage at the water’s edge, when the light is soft and the tide is coming in. Not quite grey, not quite green. The colour of the air before rain on the Salish Sea.
Wind Over Water is that stillness.
OOn Opal Fingering, the pale camel base lets Wind Over Water read with unusual clarity. The sage sits clean and luminous, with a natural sheen that makes the colour shimmer like water caught in low light. The naturally warm camel base adds a subtle gold undertone that lifts the sage without changing it.
Opal Fingering is a blend of 50% mulberry silk and 50% baby camel, spun to a light fingering weight. Baby camel and silk together produce a softness that has no equivalent in the range, smooth rather than springy, with a natural warmth that merino cannot replicate. The pale camel base allows colour to read at full brightness and luminosity. Non-superwash: handle with care.
Dyed in small batches in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, using acid dyes on protein fibre. Each skein is individually hand-dyed. Tonal variation between skeins is natural and part of what makes each piece unique.

Hand wash in cool water with a gentle wool wash. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid wringing or twisting. Block gently to shape if needed.
Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches, so subtle variations in colour and saturation are part of the character of these yarns. For larger projects, we recommend purchasing skeins from the same dye lot where possible, noted on the label, or alternating between lots as you work for the most even result.

A Rare Luxury
Camel fibre is gathered from herds that roam vast, windswept landscapes, built for extremes of heat and cold. Combined with silk, it becomes a yarn as rare as the places it comes from
A Golden Glow
Camel carries its own warmth, a soft, golden undertone that colours settle into. Where yak might cool a shade, camel gives it a gentle glow, warming every colour it touches toward something rich and sun-warmed.
In the Hand
Camel is exceptionally soft, finer and gentler than most wools, with a warmth that feels almost like cashmere. Paired with silk’s smooth slip, this is a yarn that feels as luxurious as it looks.
