Evening Heather holds both. Neither cool nor warm, it carries the blue of the sky and the red of the earth. Somewhere between treeline and tide.
On Opal Lace, the warm camel base softens Evening Heather into something settled and luminous. Drawn to lace weight, the violet deepens and the silk sheen comes forward – the colour holding more presence than the weight suggests it should. Still warm, still quiet. But with a depth that surprises.
Opal Lace is a blend of 50% mulberry silk and 50% baby camel, spun to a fine lace weight. Baby camel and silk together produce a softness that has no equivalent in the range, smooth rather than springy, with a natural warmth that merino cannot replicate. At 100 grams and 800 metres this is an extraordinary amount of yarn in the hand – almost weightless, with a drape and sheen that only this combination of fibres can produce.
Dyed in small batches in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, using acid dyes on protein fibre. Each skein is individually hand-dyed. Tonal variation between skeins is natural and part of what makes each piece unique.

Hand wash in cool water with a gentle wool wash. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid wringing or twisting. Block gently to shape if needed.
Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches, so subtle variations in colour and saturation are part of the character of these yarns. For larger projects, we recommend purchasing skeins from the same dye lot where possible, noted on the label, or alternating between lots as you work for the most even result.
