Marine Layer is that feeling.
Cool and damp, the colour of the in-between. Where the sea exhales, where the sky descends into water, where the horizon was. Not empty. Everything, but silenced.
On Shimmer Fingering, a thread of silver Stellina runs through the grey, catching light the way fog does when the sun tries to break through. Not bright. Intermittent. The shimmer surfaces and disappears – present, then gone, then present again. Marine Layer on Shimmer is the colour story made visible.
Shimmer Fingering is a blend of 80% superwash merino, 10% extra soft cashmere, and 10% silver Stellina, spun to a fingering weight. The Stellina thread is woven through the yarn rather than sitting on the surface, giving a shimmer that is subtle and internal rather than decorative. The cashmere softens the hand; the merino provides structure and bounce. A yarn for occasions, and for the everyday moments that deserve to feel like one.
Dyed in small batches in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, using acid dyes on protein fibre. Each skein is individually hand-dyed. Tonal variation between skeins is natural and part of what makes each piece unique.

Machine washable on a gentle wool cycle, or hand wash in cool water. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight.
Each skein is hand-dyed in small batches, so subtle variations in colour and saturation are part of the character of these yarns. For larger projects, we recommend purchasing skeins from the same dye lot where possible, noted on the label, or alternating between lots as you work for the most even result.
